Summary

Practically, the Human Resources Director will be responsible for administering, coordinating, and evaluating human resource functions and programs. In collaboration with the rest of the team, this individual will execute the following administrative processes: payroll & compensation; benefits & wellness; recruiting & staffing; employee relations; training & development; and record keeping & compliance. This position will be located at our headquarters in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and may entail occasional overnight travel to our out-of-state clinic locations.

Duties

Payroll & Compensation

  • Administer timekeeping system, ensuring proper approvals for timesheets and leave requests.
  • Review and process payroll bi-weekly, including incentives, deductions, and pay changes are adequately recognized.
  • Maintain role-specific relative compensation by location, accounting for cost-of-living differences, for reference when discussing compensation adjustments.

Benefits & Wellness

  • Evaluate current suite of benefits, identifying, vetting, & suggesting opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee and audit benefit enrollments for all team members.
  • Reconcile benefit deductions with carrier invoices.
  • Keep the pulse of employee morale, matching opportunities for positive change with helpful resources - internal or external.

Recruitment & Staffing

  • Collaborate with leadership to maintain & refine existing job descriptions as well as crafting novel job descriptions business needs evolve.
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategy, including identifying fertile prospecting ground and proactively engaging with talent sources.
  • Own hiring process, including candidate screening, coordinating interviews, checking references, and performing background checks, all while maintaining open, prompt, and humane communication with candidates.
  • Facilitate onboarding and offboarding processes for new and terminated team members.

Employee Relations

  • Offer supervisor guidance in resolving conflicts between employees, mediating if necessary.
  • Assist in conducting investigations, ensuring consistency of disciplinary actions.
  • Analyze and report personnel metrics and trends (e.g., average tenure, turnover, benefit participation, overtime), making recommendations for improvements.

Training & Development

  • Review, track progress, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments, including OSHA, HIPAA, and PCI compliance.
  • Assist with the design of development and growth plans, maintaining a ledger of progress.
  • Coordinate with supervisors to identify and develop performance improvement plans where necessary.

Record Keeping & Compliance

  • Maintain department records, reports, payroll, and personnel files according to retention regulations.
  • Own company handbook, collaborating with leadership on policy revisions and updates, promptly documenting and communicating those to team members.
  • Ensure current labor law notices are posted & complete annual reports, as required by federal and state entities.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current federal and state regulations (e.g., ADA, EEO, ERA, ERISA, DOL guidelines, FLSA, etc.).

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in human resources management, preferably in small, startup environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, social sciences, or similar; Master's degree a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

Working Conditions

  • On-site at company headquarters, with ability to work from home with prior supervisor approval.
  • Prolonged periods of working on a computer.
  • Occasional travel.

Evaluation

  • Regular, informal one-on-one meetings with supervisor for bi-directional feedback
  • Formal performance review to take place annually with supervisor
